About the Author

My China Story

I have lived and worked in the Greater China region for over 10 years, including cities such as Chengdu, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong. I initially developed an interest in China and Asia early in life, later pursuing China as part of my higher education and studying the Chinese language and culture.

I have spent the last decade working with Chinese companies throughout China, often in Chinese-only working environments, helping to improve their global marketing and communications. Now, based in Hong Kong, I am continuing my mission to help Chinese technology companies bridge the business and cultural divides between China and the rest of the world.  

One of my main goals is to help build a greater understanding and respect between China and the West. Many people have difficulty understanding the Chinese people, Chinese culture, as well as the Chinese perspective. This issue has been exacerbated in recent years due to rising tensions between China and Western countries, including the China-US trade war and the recent COVID-19 global health crisis.

To combat the resulting biases, I write and speak about my own experiences with real people in China, to help my fellow Westerners develop greater empathy and understanding of the Chinese people, and allow people from around the world to more easily navigate Chinese culture, society, and business.
